How to become a Bank Probationary Officer (PO) in 2022

If you want to work in a bank, then the post of probationary officer (PO) can be a good option for you. The probationary officer is also known as the assistant manager. The banking sector is the fastest developing sector in India. it contributes to the economy of the country. 

A bank PO can be given any type of work such as a clerk or an assistant before the completion of the probation period so that they can get practical knowledge about the various work processes. During the probation period, training in finance, accounting,  marketing as well as practical knowledge of investment is imparted. In addition, routine work such as scrolling, costing, account preparation, etc. is also given. After completion of the probation period, bank POs can be appointed as Assistant Manager in any branch where they have to do daily customer transactions, pass checks, draft preparation, cash management, etc. 

What to do to become a bank PO? 
To become a bank PO, first of all, you have to apply online form issued by IBPS or any private bank. The job of IBPS is to take the exam of all the banks together. IBPS takes the exam four times a year which includes Bank PO, Bank Clerk, RRB PO, RRB Clerk. You have two options to become a bank PO. One through IBPS and the other through SBI. The vacancies of both originate separately. IBPS takes the bank PO exams once a year, and SBI also takes the bank PO exams once a year. 

What is the qualification required to become a Bank Po? 
To become a bank PO, you must have passed graduation. The college or university from which you will graduate must be recognized by the Government of India. Graduation from any subject must be completed to apply for the form. Keep in mind, if you are a graduate of any subject of science, commerce, arts, then you are eligible to fill the bank PO form. To become a bank PO, it is necessary to have basic knowledge of the computer, because the banking system works only on the computer. 

What is the age limit to become a Bank Po? 
The minimum age limit of bank PO is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. Apart from this, age relaxation has been given for the Reserve category, in which 3 years relaxation has been given to OBC, 5 years relaxation to SC / ST, 10 years relaxation to PWD, and 5 years relaxation to ex-serviceman. 

What percentage marks are required to fill the form. 
To get a bank PO form, you only have to pass the graduation. Even if you are a graduate pass with 80% or 45% marks, you can apply for the form. 

When can I fill the bank PO form? 

IBPS and SBI release bank PO vacancies every year. SBI releases vacancies in April (month may vary), and IBPS in August and at the same time you have to apply the form. You get 24 to 30 days to apply for the form. 

In how many stages does the bank PO exam take place. 

There are three stages of the Bank PO Exam. Preliminary Examination, Mains Exam and, Interview. You have to secure cut-off marks to pass the prelims exam, only then you can sit in the mains exam. Keep in mind both exams are in online mode. The interview comes after both of these exams. The bank clerk does not have an interview, but in the PO exam, you have to face interview, and it is necessary to qualify, only then you will be able to become a bank PO. 

What is the syllabus of a bank PO? 

You need to know the complete syllabus to pass the bank PO exam. The syllabus of prelims and mains exams is different, but there are many similarities between the two exams. 
Questions are asked from 3 subjects in the prelims. There are 100 questions in the entire exam, the total mark of which is 100 and the time is one hour. The first subject is English, it consists 30 questions of 30 marks and the time is 20 minutes. Mathematics consists of 35 questions, 35 marks, and the given time is 20 minutes. The reasoning also contains 35 questions and total marks is 35 marks and you get 20 minutes for this subject too. 
When you pass the preliminary examination, you will have to sit the Mains exam in a few days, which consists of 4 subjects. There are a total of 155 questions in the exam, the total marks of the exam is 200, and the time given is 3 hours. All subjects have different times. 
45 questions from Reasoning and Computer contains 60 marks and the time is 60 minutes, the second subject is 40 marks from General Economy and Banking Awareness, and the time is 35 minutes. The third subject is the English language with 35 questions of 40 marks, and the time is 40 minutes. The fourth topic is Data Analysis and Interpretation which comes in the section of Quantitative Aptitude, whereby 35 questions are of 60 marks and the time is 45 minutes.You can give exams both in Hindi or English, it depends on your choice in which language you want. 

Written test 
In the written test, you have to write essays and letters. You have to type it on a computer to write it. For this, you must know English typing. The time given for the test is 30 minutes, which contains 25 marks. You will have to give the Written Test in English, you cannot type in Hindi. The Written Test is only a qualifying paper. Its marks will not be added to your merit list. Merit list created by mains exam. After that, you will qualify for the interview. The interview contains 100 marks, in which the general candidate has to bring a minimum of 40% marks.
